What to Do if Your OPPO Phone Camera Is Out of Focus

Produits applicables: Smartphones Version du système: Aucune version du système impliquée

If your OPPO Smartphone's camera has trouble focusing or is slow to focus, there are some troubleshooting tips you can try. You may want to adjust the shooting distance or check the camera for debris. For more information on how to resolve focus issues, continue reading.

Fix the unfocused camera on your OPPO Phone

Perform the following steps to fix your OPPO phone's camera:

What to Do if Your OPPO Phone Camera Is Out of Focus?

Adjust the shooting distance and environment

    • Your camera might take a long time to come into focus if you shoot objects from very close. Keep the objects at least 10 cm away from the camera lens while shooting.

    • Your photos might be blurred when you shoot photos in low lighting. You can adjust the ISO to a higher level, reduce the shutter speed, or find a light source, then take a photo again and compare the quality.

    Check for debris and damage

    • Make sure that the camera lens is clean. Then, check the camera lens for damage, like wear or breakage.

    • Make sure that nothing is blocking the camera lens. Remove that first if you're using a phone case or protective film.

    Tips for shooting pictures

    • Focus Manually - Your camera's autofocus system may fail to achieve a satisfactory focus for difficult subjects. To focus on a certain object, click on the screen where the object is located on the screen.

    • Have a still object - When you take a picture of a moving object or person, you'll get a blurred picture. Therefore, make sure that everything is still. Also, try to stay steady when you adjust the focus.

Adjust the Camera and system settings

Tap the [ICON MultiTasking.pngMulti-task] or [Recent Task] key, and close all the active applications. This helps you to make your phone perform steadily and faster.

Clear cache and data of the camera app

You can clear the cache and data of your camera app through the path per the ColorOS version. You can check your ColorOS version through [Settings] > [About phone] / [About device].

    • For ColorOS 12 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Apps] > [App management] > [Camera] > [Storage Usage] > [Clear Data] >  [Clear Cache].

    • For ColorOS 7 to 11.3: Go to your OPPO smartphone's [Settings] > [App management] > [App list] > [Camera] > [Storage usage] > Then clear its data and cache by tapping on [Clear Data] and [Clear Cache] > [Ok].

Force restart and update the phone

Press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons for more than 8 seconds to restart your device or until you see the OPPO logo, and ensure you have the latest software version.
