If you've encountered a problem where your computer fails to recognize your OPPO driver, consider connecting your OPPO device to another PC using an alternative method. Start troubleshooting by inspecting the USB cable and the USB driver you have in use; if those aren't the issue, you may need to review your device's settings and compatibility. To learn more about the reasons your computer might not detect your phone and how to address the issue, continue reading our straightforward guide provided below.
For more information, try out these steps using a functioning OPPO USB driver on your computer device. Please ensure that your device is up to the latest software before proceeding.
USB Debugging allows your OPPO phone to communicate with the computer/s.
1. Go to [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device] and tap [Version] / [Build number] 7 times in a row to enter developer mode.
In some OPPO devices: Go to [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device] > [Version] > and tap [Build number] 7 times until prompted "You are already in developer mode."
2. Go to [Settings] > [Additional Settings] > [Developer Options], depending on the ColorOS version, it might ask you to enter your lockscreen passcode/password. Toggle to green to enable [Developer Options] and toggle on [USB Debugging].
In some OPPO devices: Go to [Settings] > [System settings] > [Developer Options] and enable [Developer Options] > enable your desired developer options.
3. Connect your phone to a Windows PC using a USB cable; there will be a prompt on the phone asking for authorization if you want to allow USB Debugging for the specific Windows PC.
4. Tap the notification on your phone [Transferring Photos via USB] or [Charging via USB] and choose [Transfer Files] to start transferring files to your computer.
For ColorOS 13 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Additional Settings] > [Developer Options] then toggle to disable.
For ColorOS 12 .1: Go to [Settings] > [System settings] > [Developer Options] and disable the [Developer Options].
For ColorOS 5.0 to ColorOS 11.1: Go to [Settings] > [Additional Settings] > [Developer Options] then toggle to disable.
Download and install the driver: If your computer cannot read the USB driver. Go to your computer and enter [Device Manager] > double-tap your [OPPO smartphone] > [Install the drive from this computer equipment] / [Manually download driver online]. Check if this problem is solved.
Check the USB cable: Check your USB cable for signs of damage, like breakage or bent prongs. Use another cable to check if it can be detected by your computer.
Use another USB Port or computer/PC: Use another USB port to check if the problem can be solved. And if you can, try it with another computer/PC.
Restart both the phone and the computer: Restart the computer & phone and try it again. To restart the phone, press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons for at least 8 seconds or until you see the OPPO logo.
Turn on the Airplane mode on the computer: If Windows 10 doesn't recognize your OPPO phone, turn on the Airplane mode on your computer and try. If your computer in Airplane mode recognizes your phone, continue with file transfer and turn off the Airplane mode once complete.
Check the phone's software: Make sure the phone software is up to date in [Settings] > [Software Update] / [System Update] / [About Device] and then restart the phone.
Reset the phone system settings: Resetting the phone's system settings will not delete any of your data or media files. See How to Factory Reset an OPPO Phone. (This option is available with ColorOS 3.2 and above devices.)
