    1. Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [Show System Process]. Tap [WhatsApp] > [Force Stop]. In some devices, you may need to go to [Settings] > [Additional Settings] > [App management] > [All] > [WhatsApp].

    2. Clear the cache and data of the app in [Settings] > [App Management] > [Show System Process] > [WhatsApp] > [Storage Usage] > [Clear Data] > [Clear Cache].

    3. Uninstall the WhatsApp app from the phone and install it again.

    4. Go to [Settings] > [Software Updates] to check for and update to the latest version.

    5. Restart the phone.
